International day of yoga(2021) :

1.About Yoga Day:-

  • celebration of 21 june yoga day
  • The idea of an International Day of Yoga was first proposed by the current Prime Minister of India, Narendra modi during his speech at the united nation assembly  on 27 September 2014
  • Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body
  • Prime minister Naredra Modi  addressed the nation today on 7th International Yoga Day programme.
  • The main Theme of 2021 Yoga is “wellness”.

2.Types Of Yoga:-

1.Anulom Vilom Pranayama:-

benefits:- calms & quietens the mind, increase concentration, increase lungs capacity

Precautions:- avoid if suffering from cold, flue, fever

2. Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga means “eight limbs” and encompasses a yogic lifestyle. Most people identify Ashtanga as traditional Indian yoga. Like Vinyasa yoga, the Ashtanga yoga asanas (postures) synchronize breath with movement as you move through a series of postures.

3. Iyengar Yoga

The emphasis on this practice is alignment in the asanas using breath control through pranayama and the use of props (bolsters, blankets, blocks and straps.) without music and at a slower pace designed to assist students to get deeper into the postures.

4. Bikram Yoga

Class consists of the same twenty-six yoga postures and two breathing exercises. It is ninety minutes long and done in a room that is 105 degrees Fahrenheit with 40% humidity. The room is bright and the students face mirrors to check proper posture and alignment. There is no music during class.

5.Surya namaskar:-

benefits:-it activates digestion, increase metabolism & promotes ,sound sleep.it helps in preventing skin disorder, improves,muscles flexibility.

6. Jivamukti Yoga

Class incorporates Sanskrit chanting, Pranayama, and movement (Asanas), with a theme or lesson for each class. This is a good blend of spiritual and physical exercise.

7. Power Yoga

Power yoga is a more active approach to the traditional Hatha yoga poses. The sequences are not the same every time, and there is often upbeat music. Vinyasa yoga can also be Power yoga, depending on the gym or studio that is hosting the class.

8.Kapalbhati:-

benefits:- it balances the nervous system, digestive system

9.Vinyasa Yoga

. “Vinyasa” means linking breath with movement. The popularity of this style of yoga comes from the sensual movements, pleasant music, usually (but not always) practiced in a dark room, or sometimes by candlelight and with the eyes closed.

10.Tadasan:-

breathing remains normal, focus at fixed point ah up your heels & hands for 1 to 2 minute repeat 2 to 3 times

benefits:- develops physical, mental balance. helps to increase height by stretching the muscles & ligaments.
