Ankit Agarwal of Kanpur was sitting on the banks of the Ganges with a friend of his Czech Republic. That day was Makar Sankranti. When a foreign friend saw hundreds of people bathing in the muddy waters of the Ganges, he got upset. Where there was a pile of flowers in the water. These were the same flowers that were offered in temples or were shed in the Ganges. These flowers were offered in faith but they were polluting the Ganges so much that a layer of cellulose was deposited on the water. Friend said why not do something to clean it?
